Why Choose Legacy Place?

Many of our Legacy Place residents, chose to live here because there is always something fun going on. Each week we have regularly scheduled activities such as book club, trips to the library or bingo. Each month features a special event such as a Halloween party, a visit from our favorite Elvis impersonator, or a Hawaiian luau with all of the trappings. In between are trips to the mall, sight seeing excursions or lunch at a new restaurant.

Our activities are always changing. Here are a few our our recent events.

Residents at Legacy enjoy getting to know our younger neighbors!

Legacy Place Parma and Pleasantview Care Center participate in a number of intergenerational programs that involve our residents and students from our community. The goal is to provide a fun setting in order to learn more about each other and gain an insight into the values and life styles of different generations.

We're proud of our involvement with the Normandy High School, Nursing Assistant Program. Students in this program complete part of their clinical training at Pleasantview Care center. This has been a beneficial educational opportunity for the students as well as an enhancement of quality services for our residents.

New this year will be outings to the cosmetology department at Normandy High School for professional manicures and other beauty  services.

Also located at Normandy High School is the Sword and Shield Restaurant where students train for food services careers. Our residents love having lunch at this delightful, very affordable restaurant.

Indians Night Out - Legacy loves Baseball!

Each month, Legacy Place Parma has a special 'Night Out' dinner event. We recently celebrated the start of baseball season.

Getting ready with the basics (not sure if that's root beer or the real thing). There were hats for everyone. Food was strictly ball park fare including hot dogs, peanuts and cracker Jacks. 'Take me out to the ball game' is best played on an accordion. Don't know what the final score was, but I know everyone had a great time!

Many Thanks to our Vets

Pleasantview Care Center is pleased to have a Veteran's Administration Provider Agreement which allows approved veterans to receive VA benefits for skilled nursing and long term care, close to home, family and friends. Below are a few pictures from our yearly event to honor our veteran residents.

Alpaca visit to Legacy place parma

Alpaca Visit

One of our Legacy Place resident’s son owns an alpaca. He promised her that he would stop by with Mr. Joe (the alpaca) to see her and her friends. Sure enough, Mr. Joe arrived one day in the back seat of her son's car.

Mr. Joe really knew how to draw a crowd and everyone was thrilled to have him visit - after all, not many people get to entertain an alpaca in their living room!

We had a great time at our first Legacy/Pleasantview MUSIC BINGO Party. Thanks to all of the people who came and enjoyed this event with us. I'm sure it won't be our last.

The horses have arrived!

Legacy Place Parma and Pleasantview Care Center in Parma, Ohio hosted an afternoon of reminiscence back to the days when so many of our residents lived or visited relatives down on the farm. Thanks to the lovely volunteers who brought us this wonderful chance to reconnect with our 4 legged friends.

Many residents invited their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to enjoy the chance to get up close to these beautiful animals. We're not sure who enjoyed it more - the residents, the kids or the staff. The horses seemed to be having a pretty good time as well.
